Training Of Trainer Workshop.

A three day TOT workshop was organized from the 28th – 30th August 2017 at Andreas Kukuri Conference Centre at Okahandja. This training main aim was to equip the women with various skills and approaches. Participants were trained in how to conduct basic community needs assessment using different PRA tools such mood meter, problem tree, vena diagram, interviews, trained in proposal writing, report writing, minute taking, how to develop a budget and work plans, how to conduct meetings and resource mobilization, Participants were also taken through the various instruments of human rights especially those touching on women. Some of these included the universal declaration of human rights, the African charter on human rights of women in Africa, the national gender policy (2010 – 2020), the Namibian constitution.

Training Workshop On Policy Advocacy Skills.

Participants that attended the May advocacy skills development workshop at Penduka Development Trust.

In May 2017, a three day workshop on advocacy skills development was conducted by NDT from the 29th – 31st May 2017 at Penduka Development Trust, Windhoek. This workshop was attended by 26 regional focal persons of NRWA. During the workshop the following topics were discussed: the meaning of advocacy and lobbying, importance of advocacy, factors that can contribute to successful advocacy campaigns, role of media in advocacy, steps followed when organizing an advocacy campaign, the structure of the Namibian government and how the laws of Namibia are made and how NRWA can influence these two through advocacy, report writing techniques, etc.

Training Workshop On Organizational Development.

Group work during the organizational development workshop – March 2017.

In March 2017, a three day workshop on organizational development was conducted by NDT. It was attended by 30 NRWA representatives from all the 14 regions. The aim of this workshop was to look at the overall purpose, government structure of NRWA. The Deputy Minister of MGECW (Hon. Lucia Witbooi) officially launched the project. This workshop helped NRWA to for develop its vision statement, mission statement and organizational objectives.
